1. Basic Regulation & International Standard Basis
This operation guidance follows ISO global machining quality standards and international mechanical export trade requirements. It applies to all profile tooth cutters, form gear cutters and serrated milling cutters for gear profiling and metal form cutting. The main target is to lower surface roughness, remove cutting tool marks, chatter lines and burrs, ensure workpiece surface finish meets overseas buyer's inspection criteria and export shipment quality specifications.
2. Qualified Cutter Selection & Pre-Machine QC Check
Cutter condition is the key factor for good surface finish. All tooth cutters for finishing process must comply with ISO standard cutter tolerance and hardness rules. Select accurate tooth profile grade according to workpiece material, machining allowance and customer required Ra roughness value. Only fine-grinded and mirror-polished high-precision profile cutters are allowed for export high-finish parts; roughing cutters are forbidden for final finishing operation.
Before installation, carry out strict QC inspection as per international factory standard. Check cutter edges for wear, chipping, crack, built-up edge and corrosion. Replace all damaged or dull cutters immediately, never use defective tools for production. Calibrate cutter radial and axial runout strictly, keep all runout values within ISO allowable tolerance to avoid eccentric rotation causing poor surface quality.
3. Machine Tool & Clamping Rigidity Standard Adjustment
Machine stability and clamping rigidity directly decide cutting smoothness and final surface effect. Maintain and calibrate machines regularly based on ISO machine precision requirements, ensure spindle runout, guide rail stability and transmission system work well for finishing cutting. Check spindle bearing, tool holder tightness and workbench fixation before processing to prevent machine vibration, spindle shake and workpiece movement which cause chatter marks and rough surface.
Use international standard high-precision tool holders and rigid fixtures for cutter and workpiece clamping. Ensure tight fitting between spindle, holder and cutter shank, make workpiece fixed firmly without shaking. For thin-wall and easy-deformation export workpieces, add auxiliary support fixtures to increase clamping rigidity, reduce cutting deformation and tool resonance to achieve qualified high-precision and high-finish workpiece surface.
