Harvester blades differ in structural design and edge characteristics due to the different adapted operating scenarios and cutting materials. During maintenance, it is necessary to control the details in a targeted manner to retain the original cutting performance of the blades and extend their service life. Combining the common types of harvester blades, the unique maintenance points of each type of blade are sorted out, adapting to the maintenance operations for different operating needs, as follows:
Easily tearable cutting blades:
Light-operation protective structure ensures tearing performance. These blades are specially designed for material tearing operations. The cutting edge and blade body have special patterns/structures adapted for tearing, making them core performance components. The key to maintenance is **light cleaning, precise grinding, and avoiding damage to the special structures**.
1. When cleaning, avoid scrubbing vigorously with a hard brush or directly rinsing the blade's纹路 with high-pressure water. You can gently wipe with a soft brush and mild detergent. Use a toothpick or a soft small scraper to slowly clean the debris in the gaps to prevent the纹路 from deforming or falling off.
2. Polishing is only performed on the main cutting edge, avoiding the special tearing pattern area. Use a fine-grained file for light grinding, maintaining gentle one-way operation to prevent over-polishing from damaging the tearing angle of the blade edge.
3. When lubricating, apply only a small amount of lubricant to the connecting parts of the knife body. Do not apply lubricant to the tearing patterns and main blade edge to prevent the adsorption of debris from affecting the tearing effect.
PE film cutting blade: ultimate control of cleanliness, micro-grinding ensures precise cutting
PE film blades are mainly used for precise and smooth cutting of films, which have extremely high requirements for the sharpness of the blade edge and the cleanliness of the blade body. Tiny dirt or nicks on the blade edge can cause the film to have rough edges or burrs during cutting. The core of maintenance is **cleaning without contamination, slightly grinding and sharpening the blade edge, and preventing nicks and contamination**.
1. Cleaning must be done separately and should not be mixed with other agricultural machinery parts for washing. Dip a lint-free cloth in anhydrous ethanol and gently wipe the blade body and edge to remove dust and film residues. After wiping, dry it again with lint-free paper to ensure no cleaning agent remains.
2. Sharpening should only be done when the edge is slightly dull. Use a special fine grinding stone/diamond micro-grinding sheet, and lightly grind along the original edge angle 1-2 times. Do not use coarse grinding tools to prevent the edge from becoming serrated.
When storing and maintaining, the edge must be wrapped separately with a soft non-woven fabric to avoid collision caused by contact with metal parts. During lubrication, do not touch the edge; only apply a thin layer of anti-rust lubricant to the knife shaft connection.
